Lincoln-Way West Warriors comes up short against Lincoln-Way Central Knights in conference girls water polo play

The Lincoln-Way West Warriors lost to the Lincoln-Way Central Knights 15–3 in a varsity girls water polo conference game.

The game took place at Lincoln-Way Central High School and saw the Warriors face a strong challenge from the Knights. Lincoln-Way West struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the match and was limited to three goals as Central’s defense controlled the tempo. The Warriors continued to battle but were unable to close the gap as the Knights steadily extended their lead. The game highlighted areas for improvement as the Warriors look to bounce back in upcoming contests, according to MaxPreps.

Lincoln Way West, with 1,941 enrolled in the 2019-2020 school year, serves grades 9 to 12. It is located in New Lenox and Will County, according to Illinois Report Card. Out of these students, 37 percent were in grade 12 during that school year. The grade with the highest concentration of students was grade 10 with 39.4 percent of all students. Additionally, 36.1 percent were in grade 11 and 36.3 percent were in grade 9 during that period, according to Illinois Report Card.

Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way West will host Lockport in a conference matchup on April 14 at Lincoln-Way West High School. The last time these teams met, Lincoln-Way West fell to Lockport 11–6 on April 15, 2025 at Lockport High School, according to MaxPreps.
