Lincoln-Way West Warriors drops road contest to Downers Grove North Trojans in girls basketball

Lincoln-Way West dropped a 57–51 decision to Downers Grove North in a girls varsity basketball non-conference game. 

The game took place on February 7 at Downers Grove North High School.

The outcome marks Lincoln‑Way West’s third straight defeat, leaving them at 17–12 on the season and holding the No. 90 spot in the state rankings. Downers Grove North continues to solidify its position at No. 21 with another strong showing. Lincoln‑Way West hung around throughout but couldn’t make the late push they needed, falling to Downers Grove North for their third straight defeat. The Warriors stayed competitive in stretches, yet every run they made was met with an answer from the Trojans.

Lincoln Way West will return home Thursday, Feb. 12, for a non-conference match against Nazareth Academy, looking to reset after last year’s meeting went decisively to the Roadrunners. 

Nazareth controlled that Feb. 13, 2025 game 68–48, a result the Warriors haven’t forgotten as they prepare for the rematch.
