Lincoln-Way West wrestling dominates the day, defeats three teams

The Lincoln-Way West Warriors Boys Wrestling team emerged victorious in a recent tournament held on December 14, defeating three schools: Lena-Winslow High, Plainfield South, and Glenbard North.

According to the event results, the Warriors secured wins in all three matchups. They began with a decisive 60-10 victory over Lena-Winslow High, which is ranked No. 4 in the 1A rankings. The team continued their impressive performance with a 71-8 win against Plainfield South and concluded the day with a 49-26 triumph over Glenbard North.

Several members of the Warriors achieved perfect records during the tournament. Brady Glynn (113lb), Max Munn (120lb), Carter DiBenedetto (132lb), DJ Freeman (165lb), Jimmy Talley (190lb), and Nate Elstner (215lb) each finished with a record of 3-0. Meanwhile, Jakob Siwinski (138lb) and Brandon Bavirsha (285lb) remained undefeated in their matches, both achieving a record of 2-0.

The dominant performance by the Warriors not only highlighted their depth but also underscored their competitiveness against teams from various divisions. With strong individual efforts and collective success, Lincoln-Way West demonstrated they are a team to watch this season.
