The Lincoln-Way West boys wrestling team demonstrated its capabilities at the Rex Whitlatch Invitational, securing second place among 24 teams. The event took place on December 21, with the Warriors amassing a total of 188 points. Their determination and intensity were evident throughout each match.
According to the competition results, the varsity wrestling squad exhibited significant toughness and perseverance. Eight wrestlers from Lincoln-Way West achieved placements, showcasing both individual talent and the team’s depth.
Leading the charge for the Warriors were Shane Stream in the 126-pound category and Nate Elstner in the 215-pound category, each securing first place in their respective weight classes. Brandon Barvisha (285 lbs) and Jimmy Talley (190 lbs) earned third-place finishes. Brady Glynn (113 lbs), Max Munn (120 lbs), and DJ Freeman (165 lbs) each placed fifth, while Jakob Siwinski completed the team’s achievements with a sixth-place finish at 138 pounds.
