The Lincoln-Way West Warriors wrestling team achieved a significant victory by securing first place at the Ryan Burke Invitational, held at Lincoln-Way Central High School on December 20.

According to reports, the Freshman/Sophomore invitational served as a platform for Lincoln-Way West to evaluate its depth against familiar conference opponents, including the host team, Lincoln-Way Central. The Warriors distinguished themselves throughout the tournament with consistent performances across various weight classes.

Lincoln-Way West accumulated the highest team point total of the day, thereby securing the overall championship. This performance demonstrated the program’s development at the underclass level and highlighted their ability to compete in high-pressure tournament settings. Their steady approach and resilience enabled them to finish ahead of both Lincoln-Way Central and other competitors.

The Warriors are scheduled to return to competition on January 10 against Oswego and several other teams in a mega duel setting at Oswego High School.
