Lincoln-Way’s boys varsity lacrosse team delivered a decisive performance on Wednesday night, defeating Lockport Township 13-5 at home.
According to the game report, the team maintained control from the outset. Senior attackman Chris Biel spearheaded the offensive effort, scoring five goals and demonstrating aggressive play around the crease. His leadership and precision were key factors in overcoming Lockport’s defense.
Sophomore Logan Yerkey played a crucial role by dominating faceoffs throughout the match. This provided Lincoln-Way with consistent possession and allowed their offense to apply continuous pressure. Yerkey’s effectiveness in faceoffs also limited Lockport’s offensive opportunities and facilitated transition plays for the team.
Defensively, Lincoln-Way impressed by applying constant pressure, forcing turnovers, and disrupting Lockport’s rhythm. The defense successfully prevented any significant scoring runs by Lockport, holding them to just five goals.
Head coach Jackson commended his team’s poise and execution during the game. “The effort, the energy, and the attitude were exactly what we needed,” Jackson said. “They played like a true team tonight.”
