Lincoln-Way West High School’s multimedia club, Lincoln-Way TV (LWTV) has been offering students an exciting opportunity to dive into the world of broadcast production throughout the fall sports season.
From filming athletic events, drama specials and graduation ceremonies, and even creating introduction videos and commercials, LWTV produces a variety of content that airs on the school’s YouTube channel.
Members of the club receive training on a range of professional-grade equipment, including cameras, editing software, audio mixers, and graphics tools—all provided by Lincoln-Way.
Students also learn how to set up and operate the gear, giving them valuable experience in broadcast production.
LWTV’s mission is not only to help students explore potential careers in television, radio, or social media platforms, but to also provide a fun, hands-on learning environment.
Club members can contribute in many different roles, such as camera operators, directors, graphic designers, or even announcers.
The club meets once a week, offering a flexible and collaborative environment where students can get involved in every aspect of the broadcast process. Whether you’re passionate about video production or just curious to try something new, LWTV provides an exciting platform to develop new skills and creativity.
Our last event was varsity football game (Varsity football game with Lincoln Way West vs. Centennial High School. Brooklynn Ludwig ran the ground camera and graphics and Ella Populorum operated the upper camera and ground camera. Jacob Farr was the announcer for the game, and Skyler Durbon helped out with graphics, directing, and top camera.
