The Lincoln-Way West High School girls varsity cross country team delivered a strong performance at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational on Saturday, competing against some of the state’s most elite teams on a famous course. The team finished 46th with 1,281 points.
The Warriors showed significant improvement, with 10 runners achieving new personal bests. Leading the way were freshman Neve McSherry and junior Ally Dean, who both broke the 20-minute mark. Their impressive times earned them a spot in the top 30 all-time for Lincoln-Way West girls cross country.
Following closely behind were freshmen Penny Pinciak, sophomore Adriana Litro, and senior captain Celest Reiling. Their strong finishes contributed to the team’s overall success in a highly competitive field.
At the freshman-sophomore level, every runner saw a major improvement. Kate Lemke, Ava Ferrucci, and Kaydence Golembiewski each improved their personal best times by over 45 seconds, highlighting the depth and future potential of the program.
