The Lincoln-Way West girls varsity track team demonstrated a commendable performance at the Cabin Fever Invite, sponsored by Nike, on Thursday at Gately Stadium. Competing against top-tier talent, several athletes achieved personal bests across multiple events.
According to the team’s performance records, junior Emily Hendrick excelled in the shot put, while senior Bliss Ward impressed in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. Sophomore Emma Novotny also recorded personal bests in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash.
In mid-distance events, junior Delilah Varga and sophomore Gabriella Robertson posted strong times in the 600-meter run. Seniors Sophia Mikolajczak and Savannah Salazar competed in the 800-meter run, while senior Kylie Ludwig and freshman Lizzie Lemke delivered solid performances in the 1,600-meter run.
The Warriors showcased their depth and determination in a highly competitive meet. With personal records set across multiple disciplines, the team continues to build momentum for the season ahead. Lincoln-Way West will look to carry this success into its next competition as they prepare for upcoming meets.
