Lincoln-Way West secured a 4-1 victory over Andrew High School in a 12-inning varsity baseball game on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the match details, the game remained tied at 1-1 until the top of the 12th inning when Conor Essenburg delivered a crucial triple, clearing the bases and giving the Warriors a three-run lead. Essenburg finished with one hit out of six attempts and led the team with three RBIs.

Andrew High School initially took the lead in the fourth inning by scoring on a hit-by-pitch. Lincoln-Way West responded in the sixth inning, tying the game with a triple by Jackson Mansker.

Tyler Bartley earned the win for Lincoln-Way West, pitching four scoreless innings with three strikeouts and no walks. Michael Pettit started on the mound, allowing one run over five innings with five strikeouts. Ben Joynt also contributed two shutout innings, while Adam Gerl closed the game, earning the save.

Andrew’s starter Kendall performed solidly through eight innings, allowing one run and two hits without issuing a walk. Westin took the loss after surrendering three runs in the final frame. Anthony Vita led Lincoln-Way West with two hits. Both teams turned one double play during the match.

Lincoln-Way West is set to face Lockport next on Friday in another road matchup.
