LWW’s depth and determination stand out in 2-1 loss

Lincoln-Way West boys’ volleyball team faced a challenging match on Tuesday night, ultimately falling short in a 2-1 loss to Timothy Christian. Despite the defeat, the Warriors showcased resilience and teamwork, indicative of their progress this season.

According to the team’s statistics, the Warriors, now holding a 10-7 record for the year, were led by junior Hunter Vedder. Vedder recorded 11 kills, 18 digs, and a block, contributing significantly to both offense and defense. Senior Colin Baikie also made an impact with 10 kills and 6 digs.

Mason Thompson added 8 kills and 9 digs to the team’s efforts, while Colin Dargan contributed defensively with 2 kills and 7 digs. Jack Jurka was noted for his reliability in crucial moments with his contribution of 6 kills.

Setter Ryne Ferree played a pivotal role by providing 26 assists along with a kill and 3 digs. Aidan Kettelson supported from the back row with 3 assists and 2 digs.

Although they lost the final set, Lincoln-Way West’s performance was marked by determination. With ongoing contributions from their roster, the Warriors are expected to be strong contenders as the season continues. Their tenacity and teamwork suggest promising matches ahead.
