The Lincoln Way West (LWW) track and field team took first place out of 16 teams at the Downers Grove South Invitational, highlighted by multiple record-breaking performances and 31 personal bests.
Senior Austin Rowswell led the charge, setting school records in both the 200-meter dash (21.82 seconds) and 400-meter dash (47.48 seconds). Rowswell also helped the 4×100-meter relay team — alongside Chase Markowicz, Ryan Stiglic, and Michael Kennedy — set a school record with a time of 42.77 seconds.
Anthony Lusciatti added to the record haul, setting a new school best in the 300-meter hurdles at 38.79 seconds. Sophomore Hunter Spee broke the sophomore 800-meter dash record with a 1:56 finish.
Top individual finishes included Rowswell placing first in both the 200 and 400 meters, Nick Dul winning the 3200, Brendan Vlasak taking first in the 110-meter hurdles, and Lusciatti claiming the 300 hurdles. Spee earned second in the 800, and Caleb Terdic took second in the freshman 200.
In relays, the 4×100 team claimed gold, while Lusciatti, Spee, Wolf, and Johnson secured silver in the 4×400.
