Lincoln-Way West’s varsity girls swimming team showed depth and determination Saturday at the Lincoln-Way Central Invite, finishing fifth overall with 141 points.
The Warriors battled through a strong field of programs, placing just four points shy of fourth place Amos Alonzo Stagg. West also distanced itself from Lemont Township, which tallied 105 points.
Lincoln-Way West athletes turned in consistent performances across multiple events, keeping the team within striking distance of higher finishes throughout the meet. The Warriors displayed balanced contributions in both individual and relay races, a sign of the program’s growth against tough competition.
Oswego East captured the team title with 305 points, followed by host Lincoln-Way Central with 282. Carl Sandburg placed third at 254. Despite facing larger programs with deeper rosters, West continued to demonstrate resilience and competitiveness, keeping pace in several heats.
The Warriors’ 141-point effort underscores their ability to contend in pressure situations while showing improvement as the season progresses. With strong swims and emerging leaders, Lincoln-Way West continues to build momentum heading into conference competition.
Saturday’s performance reflected a team that may not have finished at the top but proved it belongs among the area’s toughest programs.
