Mansker, Pettit lead LWW to 10-0 shutout over Joliet Central

Jackson Mansker and Michael Pettit led Lincoln-Way West to a decisive 10-0 victory over Joliet Central in a six-inning varsity baseball game on Wednesday.

According to the match report, Mansker went 3-for-4 with three doubles, driving in two runs to boost the Warriors’ offense. His extra-base hits occurred in the third, fifth, and sixth innings, aiding Lincoln-Way West in steadily increasing their lead.

Pettit also delivered a strong performance on the mound. The right-hander pitched six no-hit innings, striking out 10 and walking just one. He contributed offensively as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI double in the fifth inning.

The Warriors broke a scoreless tie in the third inning when Lucas Acevedo hit a sacrifice fly followed by Mansker’s run-scoring double. A six-run surge in the fifth inning secured the game for Lincoln-Way West, highlighted by RBI hits from Acevedo, Mansker, Pettit, Anthony Vita, and Carson Paulas, who drove in two runs with a single.

Lincoln-Way West recorded 11 hits and stole four bases without committing any errors. Owen Weber led the defense with nine fielding chances. Joliet Central’s Ryan Cooling took the loss after allowing six hits and six runs—four of which were earned—over 4 1/3 innings.

The Warriors improved their season record through solid all-around play.
