Michael Pettit delivered the game-winning hit to lead Lincoln-Way West baseball to a 6-5 walk-off win over Marysville in a nonconference matchup.
The game took place April 2, 2026, at Lincoln-Way West High School.
Lincoln-Way West battled throughout a back-and-forth game before breaking through in the eighth inning. With the score tied at five, Pettit came through with a clutch single to bring home the winning run and cap off the comeback victory. The Warriors responded early after falling behind, as Quinten Lange drew a walk to even the game in the first inning. Lincoln-Way West took control in the third when Jackson Mansker drove in a run with a single, followed by Owen Weber’s three-run double that gave the Warriors a lead. Offensively, the Warriors totaled nine hits, with Pettit leading the way with three hits, while Mansker added two. Weber drove in a team-high three RBIs, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
On the mound, Luke Stoner picked up the win in relief, allowing one unearned run over 3.2 innings while striking out five. Adam Redmond started the game, and Luke Gouty also contributed out of the bullpen.
Lincoln-Way West showed composure late and executed when it mattered most to secure the extra-inning victory.
