Lincoln-Way West senior catcher Reese Forsythe enters her final season as one of the Warriors’ toughest and most experienced players behind the plate.
Forsythe described her junior year as the peak of her high school career so far, emphasizing the mental and physical demands of the catcher position and how those challenges helped shape her development.
“Junior year was my peak year,” Forsythe said. “I really showed my mental toughness throughout my career as a catcher.”
Batting second in the lineup last season, Forsythe played a key role in advancing runners, often working in tandem with leadoff hitter Ruth Roark. With Roark regularly reaching base, Forsythe focused on executing situational plays to move runners into scoring position.
“I really like batting second because Ruth always gets on base and I can bunt her over,” she said.
Forsythe believes the Warriors have strong potential to make a deep run this season, pointing to roster continuity and improved chemistry as major strengths.
“We have very strong potential of making it far this year,” she said. “We have most of the same players, and our team connection is just getting stronger.”
After gaining experience at the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity levels, Forsythe hopes to help lead Lincoln-Way West through a successful final campaign while anchoring both the defense and lineup.
