Lincoln-Way West began their Southwest Suburban Conference play with a decisive victory over Homewood-Flossmoor, winning 8-1. The game, held on Tuesday, highlighted the team’s offensive strength and effective pitching.
According to the team’s performance details, the Warriors (9-1, 1-0 SWSC) demonstrated significant depth both at bat and on the mound. Senior player Reese Cusack achieved a perfect 3-for-3 record, hitting a home run and a double while contributing two RBIs, scoring twice, walking once, and stealing a base.
Senior Reese Rourke also made substantial contributions with a 4-for-5 effort that included a home run, an RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. Molly Finn added to the lineup’s power by finishing 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
Abby Brueggmann played a pivotal role in both offense and defense. At bat, she went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. In her pitching role as a junior player, she delivered five strong innings without allowing any earned runs and striking out nine.
