Lincoln-Way West senior Billy Spee will represent the Warriors at the IHSA Boys Swimming and Diving State Finals after a standout performance at sectional competition highlighted by a championship swim and multiple record-setting efforts.

Spee secured his state qualification by winning the sectional title in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.33 seconds, earning advancement against one of the state’s most competitive postseason fields. The sectional meet served as the final opportunity for swimmers across Illinois to qualify for the state finals.

In addition to his individual victory, Spee continued to rewrite the Lincoln-Way West record book. He set a new school record in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.22 seconds and also helped establish a new program mark as part of the Warriors’ 400 freestyle relay alongside Luke Medel, Colin Stack and Jack Casey.

Spee’s performance helped lead Lincoln-Way West to a second-place team finish at sectionals, reflecting both individual excellence and strong relay contributions throughout the meet. His ability to contribute across multiple events has made him a key part of the Warriors’ postseason success during his senior season.
