Lincoln-Way West boys’ volleyball team maintained its strong start to the season with a straight-set victory over Providence Catholic on Wednesday, securing a 25-18, 25-19 win.
According to the team’s performance statistics, the Warriors improved their overall record to 7-2 through a balanced team effort and notable individual performances. Senior outside hitter Colin Baikie led the team by recording seven kills, seven digs, three aces, and two blocks in an impressive all-around display.
Mason Thompson contributed five kills, a block, an ace, and an assist. Libero Andrew Flores supported the back row with a team-high of 12 digs and added an ace.
Setter Ryne Ferree efficiently managed the offense with nine assists, while Aidan Kettelson added three assists. Colin Dargan made four kills and four digs, while Drew Kregul was effective at the net with four blocks and two kills. Hunter Vedder also contributed with two kills and two aces.
Lincoln-Way West controlled both sets from start to finish by staying aggressive at the service line and winning long rallies through determined defense and strategic hitting. The Warriors aim to continue their momentum in their upcoming conference match next week.
