Tigchelaar and LWW dominate singles to propel the Warriors over Andrew High

The Lincoln Way West Varsity Girls Tennis Team improved to a 3-1 record in SWSC play, after defeating Victor J Andrew High School 5-2.

The LWW Warriors established three singles victories by star players, Emily Tigchelaar, who won her match with fair scores of 6-1 and 6-3, Lily Kulhan (7-5, 6-3) and Sydney Rutkowski (6-1, 6-2), giving them a 3-0 start.

Lincoln West double partners Jess Dankin and Grace Cremieux sealed the first victory for the Warriors with a score of 6-0, 4-6, and 11-9, while the doubles team of Avery Webb and Amelia Peterson won their match (6-4,4-6,11,9) as well to advance them to the win.

VJ Andrews won the final two doubles matches, putting them at least on the board.

Overall, it seemed to be one of the more dominant performances by the Lincoln girls, as the win moves their record to 13-9-0 on the season.
