Lincoln-Way West’s girls competitive dance team secured a second-place finish to advance to the IHSA state finals at the Class 3A sectional.
The sectional competition was held Jan. 30 at Champaign Central High School in Champaign, Illinois, where the Warriors delivered a strong performance to claim one of the qualifying spots for the state meet.
Lincoln-Way West’s routine earned high marks across multiple judging categories, as the team displayed sharp synchronization, clean transitions and consistent energy throughout its performance. The Warriors’ execution and overall presentation placed them among the top teams in the field and allowed them to finish runner-up, officially punching their ticket to the state series. The result capped a successful postseason run and continued the program’s tradition of competing at the highest level in the state.
Up Next Lincoln-Way West will compete in the IHSA state finals next weekend at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, Illinois, with the official date and performance order to be announced by the IHSA.
