Lincoln-Way West girls basketball earned a postseason victory with a strong 56-33 win over Oak Lawn, using balanced scoring and defensive pressure to advance in regional play.
The win allows Lincoln-Way West to continue its postseason run and move into the regional championship round. The team used balanced scoring and defensive pressure to establish control early and maintain momentum throughout the contest.
According to information from Lincoln-Way West High School, “The regional semifinal was played Feb. 16 at Lincoln-Way West High School, where the Warriors established control early and steadily built separation throughout the contest behind disciplined execution on both ends of the floor… Lincoln-Way West relied on efficient offense throughout the night. Molly Finn led the scoring effort with 18 points, providing consistency during key stretches of the game. Reagan McCracken added 15 points with aggressive play offensively and defensively, while Kenzie Roesner contributed 11 points to round out a balanced scoring performance.”
“The Warriors limited Oak Lawn’s scoring opportunities with active defense and strong rebounding, preventing extended runs while turning stops into transition chances… Timely shooting and composed ball movement allowed Lincoln-Way West to extend its lead as the game progressed and maintain momentum throughout the second half… The victory moved Lincoln-Way West into the regional championship round, continuing the team’s postseason push as the Warriors looked to build on strong defensive energy and balanced team play moving forward,” according to Lincoln-Way West High School.
