The Lincoln-Way West Warriors emerged victorious against the Manley Wildcats with a score of 72-64, marking the beginning of their participation in the Chuck Dayton Holiday Classic.

The boys’ basketball game took place at DeKalb High School on December 27. According to reports, Lincoln-Way West entered the holiday tournament aiming to build momentum against a competitive Manley team in a neutral-site setting.

The Warriors established an offensive lead with Eiden Kubilius delivering a career-high performance by scoring 26 points, leading all scorers. Drake Been contributed significantly with 18 points, aiding Lincoln-Way West in maintaining control throughout the match. The Warriors managed to build leads during crucial moments and responded effectively to multiple runs by Manley with timely baskets and consistent execution, securing an eight-point victory.

Lincoln-Way West is scheduled to face Bradley-Bourbonnais on January 9 for their next matchup.
