Lincoln-Way West defeated Lockport 11-1 to capture the WJOL championship, powered by a dominant performance in the circle from Abby Brueggmann and a high-powered offensive showing.
The game took place April 2, 2026, at Lincoln-Way West High School.
The Warriors controlled the game from the start, combining timely hitting with consistent pressure at the plate to build an early lead. Reese Forsythe led the offense with a 4-for-5 performance that included a home run, triple and double, driving in three runs and scoring three times. Kaylea Armstrong added a perfect 3-for-3 day with a home run and double, finishing with two runs scored and an RBI. Reegan Connelly and Hannah Borchert each added home runs as Lincoln-Way West continued to extend its lead throughout the game.
Brueggmann set the tone in the circle, throwing six innings while allowing five hits and one run, striking out six to keep Lockport’s offense in check and secure the win.
Lincoln-Way West returns April 11 at home against Oswego, with first pitch scheduled for 10 a.m.
The win adds another strong result in the matchup history between the two programs as the Warriors continue to build momentum early in the season.
