The Lincoln-Way West girls’ basketball team improved their season record to 10-1 and maintained an undefeated status in conference play (4-0) with a 54-43 victory over Lincoln-Way Central on December 19.
Caroline Smith emerged as the standout player, delivering a dominant performance with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots. According to the game report, Smith’s all-around effort was instrumental in the Warriors’ victory, enabling them to pull away in the second half after a closely contested first two quarters.
Ava Tisch and Molly Finn each contributed nine points, providing steady scoring support for the team. Tisch also had a solid presence on defense, while Finn’s timely shooting helped maintain the Warriors’ lead throughout the game.
Despite a strong effort from Lincoln-Way Central, who kept the game close for much of the first half, the Warriors’ defense and balanced offensive attack proved too formidable. With this win, Lincoln-Way West continues to build momentum as they aim to extend their impressive start to the season.
