Lincoln-Way West girls bowling capped another successful postseason run with an 11th-place finish at the IHSA Girls Bowling State Finals, continuing the program’s strong tradition of competing among Illinois’ top teams.
The result marks another successful postseason for Lincoln-Way West, which has established itself as one of the area’s most consistent bowling programs. The team advanced to Day 2 of competition after finishing ninth in the opening round at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford and ultimately secured an 11th-place finish overall to conclude the season. According to the school, “The Warriors earned their trip to state after placing fourth at sectional competition, marking the program’s fourth consecutive appearance at the IHSA State Finals. Senior leadership played a major role throughout the postseason, as Erin Paul and Allison Whalen qualified for state competition for the fourth straight year… Seniors Michelle Schmitz, Paige DeBella and Madison Tippett also continued their strong postseason consistency with their third consecutive state appearances.”
The lineup representing Lincoln-Way West at state included Allison Whalen, Erin Paul, Eve Brkovic, Jessica Figueroa, Madison Tippett, Michela Vinci, Michelle Schmitz and Paige DeBella. The group combined experience and depth throughout the season. As reported by the school, “The Warriors’ finish reflected the dedication of a veteran core that helped sustain one of the area’s most consistent bowling programs, closing the season with another appearance on Illinois’ biggest stage.”
Lincoln-Way West’s performance this year was supported by senior leadership and a roster with multiple athletes making repeat appearances at state-level competition.
