Essenburg demonstrated his skills by striking out 11 batters over five innings, allowing only two hits and one run without issuing any walks. At the plate, he achieved three hits in three at-bats, including a solo home run in the first inning that gave the Warriors an early lead.
According to game reports, Lincoln-Way West’s offense gained momentum in the fourth inning. Quinten Lange hit a double that brought in two runs, while Lucas Acevedo and Michael Pettit each contributed RBI singles, pushing the Warriors ahead to 5-1. Lange later added a crucial two-run single in the seventh inning, giving West a temporary lead of 7-5.
Despite their efforts, Lincoln-Way East managed to tie the game in the sixth inning and ultimately secured victory with a walk-off win in the seventh.
