Lincoln-Way West was shining with a gold to represent awareness when the football team took on Naperville on Oct. 4.

The Gold Out encouraged fans attending the game against Naperville North to wear gold t-shirts to honor Cal’s Angels, a leading Chicagoland Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

Cal’s Angels stated mission is to grant wishes, raise awareness, and fund research to help kids fighting cancer.

The LWW family helped grant a couple wishes by hosting local families with children battling pediatric cancer.

Coach Luke Lokanc named local Cal’s Angel’s representatives Autumn and Wyatt as honorary captains. Both stood with the team prior to kickoff and participated in the game’s opening ceremonies, such as ringing the bell and the coin flip.

Keep the gold going strong, the kid’s need us all year long.
