Lincoln-Way West is sending four wrestlers to the IHSA State Finals after a strong performance at the IHSA Sectional.
The sectional took place Feb. 14 at 9 a.m., as the Warriors competed in postseason action for the opportunity to advance to Champaign.
Kellan Hack (113 pounds), Brady Glynn (132), Jack Strezo (144) and Max Herman (165) each battled through their brackets to earn state berths. Every round carried added pressure, and the four qualifiers responded with composure and determination to keep their seasons alive. Their advancement reflects months of preparation and steady growth throughout the winter, as Lincoln-Way West continued to build momentum at the right time.
Lincoln-Way West will also have three state alternates in Charlie Strezo, Carter DiBenedetto and Jimmy Talley, adding depth and additional representation for the Warriors heading into the final weekend of competition.
The 2026 IHSA Boys Individual Wrestling State Finals are scheduled for Feb. 19–21 at the State Farm Center in Champaign, where the state’s top wrestlers will compete for championships. With four qualifiers advancing, Lincoln-Way West has positioned itself to make its presence felt on Illinois’ biggest wrestling stage.
