Warriors showcase all‑conference depth across track and field at SWSC Championships

Lincoln‑Way West delivered a dominant showing at the SWSC Championships, showing strength in relays, hurdles, distance, and throws.

The late‑night battle played out Thursday, May 14, under the lights at Lockport Township High School, where the Warriors turned the track into their stage at 9:30 p.m.

On the track, the 4×200 relay team of Anthony Lusciatti, Braydon McNulty, Caleb Terdic, and Michael Kennedy ran 1:28.10 to place second overall. The 4×800 relay squad of Hunter Spee, Parker Ethridge, Nicholas Dul, and Anthony Lusciatti added another highlight, finishing with a strong 7:59.50 for third place. Closing the night, the 4×400 relay team of Hunter Spee, Anthony Lusciatti, Caleb Terdic, and Zaven Johnson clocked 3:19.44 to secure second place in a competitive field.

Individually, Hunter Spee won the 800 meters in 1:57.13, while Nicholas Dul placed eighth in the 1600 meters at 4:32.62. Braydon McNulty tied for second in the 110m hurdles at 14.95, and Evan Schultz added an 11th‑place finish in the 300m hurdles at 44.13. In the discus, Broden Newman threw a personal‑best 47.76 meters to lead the event, with Benjamin DeMaertelaere close behind at 45.99 meters for fourth.

With contributions from Jack Drozdek and Ryan Kinsella in the distance races, Lincoln‑Way West’s depth was on full display, underscoring a balanced roster that excelled across events at Lockport.
