The Lincoln-Way West freshman/sophomore girls’ softball team continued its season with an 18-9 victory over Naperville Central on Saturday morning.
According to the game details, the Warriors’ bats were effective from the start, accumulating hits and home runs to overpower the Redhawks in the May 10 matchup. A. Thayer led the offensive charge, going 3-for-4 at the plate and driving in four runs. A. Steury matched that performance with a 3-for-4 effort of her own, crossing the plate four times.
Power hitting was a key factor in the win, as C. Niemeyer, A. Black, and M. Richard each hit a home run, contributing to the team’s dominant performance. Lincoln-Way West took control early and maintained their lead throughout, showcasing strong offensive depth and timely hits across the lineup. With this win, the Warriors continue to build momentum as the postseason approaches.
The Warriors will aim to extend their streak on Wednesday as they travel to face Lincoln-Way East. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
