Lincoln-Way West secured a victory over Andrew with a 2-0 win in straight sets on Tuesday night, recording scores of 25-23 and 25-17 during a SouthWest Suburban Conference matchup.

The match was held on October 14 at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox. The Warriors’ triumph improved their overall record to 17-11 and their conference play record to 4-2.

According to the match report, Lincoln-Way West demonstrated strong balance throughout the evening, effectively combining defense and offense. Sophia Rozga anchored the back row with five digs and contributed two aces from the service line. On the offensive front, Lily Goyer and Kara Stigter led with eight kills each, while setter Claire Murphy provided 16 assists to direct the Warriors’ attack. The team’s composure during close points in the first set transitioned into a commanding performance in the second set to secure the win.

Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way West is scheduled to travel to Lincoln-Way Central on Wednesday, October 15, for a matchup at 6 p.m., followed by a home game against Homewood-Flossmoor on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

In their previous encounter, Lincoln-Way West also defeated Andrew in two sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-21. The Warriors aim to sustain their momentum as they move towards postseason competition.
