Lincoln-Way West Warriors defeated Crescent Tigers 7–0 in a varsity baseball non-conference game.
The game was played March 30 at Lincoln-Way West High School, where the Warriors controlled the Tigers from the opening inning, using early offense and dominant pitching to secure the shutout victory. Jacob Howard set the tone on the mound, earning the win after allowing just one hit and no runs over four innings while striking out five. West jumped ahead in the first when Howard grounded out to bring home two runs, followed by another run scoring on a balk. The Warriors extended their lead in the second behind a triple from Jackson Mansker and an RBI single from Howard. Mansker finished with three runs batted in, going 1 for 1 in the heart of the order. Carson Paulas and Quinten Lange each added two hits as West’s lineup continued to apply pressure. Owen Chudzinski closed out the final inning, striking out Carter Roberts to seal the combined shutout, according to Prep Sports USA.
The Warriors will next face Stagg in a conference matchup scheduled for Monday, April 6, at 4:45 p.m., as reported by MaxPreps. The teams last met on May 31, 2025, when Lincoln-Way West fell 4–1 on the road.
Lincoln Way West serves grades nine through twelve and had an enrollment of 1,941 students during the 2019–2020 school year. It is located in New Lenox and Will County. Of these students, grade ten had the highest concentration with 39.4 percent of all students; grade twelve accounted for 37 percent; grade eleven made up 36.1 percent; and grade nine comprised 36.3 percent of enrollment during that period.
According to the Illinois Report Card, Lincoln Way West’s student body was composed of 81.8 percent white students, 12.7 percent Hispanic students, 1.8 percent black students, and one percent Asian students during the same school year.
