Lincoln‑Way West softball defeated Naperville Central 19–4 in Wednesday’s nonconference game.
The result marks another strong performance for Lincoln‑Way West, which continues its early-season momentum. The matchup was played on March 25 at Naperville Central High School.
West’s offense started quickly, scoring seven runs in the first inning and adding three more in the second and five in the third. The Warriors finished with 12 hits and took advantage of defensive errors by Naperville Central. Jess Noga pitched four innings without allowing an earned run and struck out four batters. Molly Finn contributed a home run, double, and two RBI; Reese Forsythe added three RBI and a double; Reese Cusack hit a run-scoring double; and Addison Adrieansen went 2-for-2 at the plate.
West now prepares for a conference game against Homewood Flossmoor on Monday, April 6, at 4:30 p.m. Last season, Lincoln‑Way West won both matchups against Homewood Flossmoor, including an 8–1 road victory on April 8 and another win on May 1.
Lincoln Way West serves grades nine through twelve with an enrollment of 1,941 students during the 2019-2020 school year. It is located in New Lenox in Will County. Of these students, grade ten had the highest concentration at 39.4 percent; grade nine accounted for 36.3 percent; grade eleven for 36.1 percent; and grade twelve for 37 percent of enrolled students during that period.
According to Illinois Report Card data, Lincoln Way West’s student body was composed of approximately 81.8 percent white students, 12.7 percent Hispanic students, 1.8 percent black students, and one percent Asian students during the same school year.
