The Lincoln-Way West varsity girls volleyball team faced a challenging match on Monday night, ultimately losing to Joliet West in straight sets, 25-17 and 25-13.
Despite the defeat, the Warriors demonstrated moments of resilience and leadership. According to the team’s performance analysis, Sophia Rozga led the defense with a team-high eight digs and contributed three serve-receive passes that were pivotal in several rallies. On offense, outside hitter Anna Casner spearheaded the attack with a team-best five kills. Her powerful swings in the opening set helped narrow the gap before Joliet West eventually pulled ahead.
Lincoln-Way West continued to show determination in the second set with disciplined defense and competitive play at the net. Although they could not match Joliet West’s pace, their effort highlighted their resolve early in the season. Head coach and teammates commended Rozga and Casner for setting an example, considering this performance as foundational for future conference matchups.
The Warriors are set to return to action later this week with hopes of translating their efforts into victories.
