Lincoln-Way West’s freshman/sophomore girls’ softball team secured a narrow 7-6 victory over Lincoln-Way Central on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the game details, the Warriors were led offensively by Addison Thayer, who went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in four runs. Mac Richard also contributed significantly, finishing 2-for-2 with three runs scored and one RBI, helping West maintain their lead in a closely contested matchup.
Pitcher G. Yakas delivered a strong performance on the mound, throwing a complete game and allowing just one earned run while striking out seven. Her poise and control kept the Warriors ahead despite a late push by the Knights.
