Lincoln-Way West was defeated by Lincoln-Way Central in a high-scoring bowling match on Tuesday, December 17. Central posted a total score of 2203, surpassing West’s 2066. Despite the loss, Lincoln-Way West maintains a strong performance with an impressive team average exceeding 200 for the season.
According to the team’s co-captains, Matthew Staniszewski and Logan Nicholls led with solid performances. Staniszewski achieved scores of 266 and 201, while Nicholls contributed with scores of 222 and 227. Freshman Ryan Richter also had a notable day, averaging 215, which helped boost the team’s overall effort. The team started two freshmen and averaged 206 as a group, indicating potential for future success.
The Warriors currently hold a record of 5-3 this season and have shown steady improvement. The varsity squad has become more consistent as the year progresses. West’s focus remains on maintaining this positive momentum as they approach their final match of the regular season and prepare for the upcoming LW Cup this weekend.
