LWW secured a decisive victory over Lincoln-Way East with an 8-2 win on Friday in a significant varsity baseball matchup.

According to the game report, the Warriors’ offensive surge in the fourth inning was pivotal, featuring a double by Carson Paulas that scored one run, a two-RBI double by Peyton Globke, RBI singles from Quinten Lange and Conor Essenburg, and a run scored on a balk. The team amassed 11 hits overall, with Paulas and Essenburg each contributing two hits. Globke led with two RBIs in his sole at-bat.

Lincoln-Way East initially took the lead in the third inning when Pearson singled to drive in a run. Riiff led the Griffins with two hits, while Pearson and Triolo each contributed an RBI. The team drew nine walks during the game, with MJ Schley and Mikrut each drawing two.

Lucas Acevedo earned the win for LWW by pitching 3.1 scoreless innings, striking out five batters while allowing only two hits. Michael Pettit started for West, striking out three over 2.2 innings, while Ben Joynt also pitched in relief. For Lincoln-Way East, Jack Tamer started on the mound and struck out five across three innings.
