Lincoln-Way West relied on the lower part of its lineup to achieve a 4-1 victory over Andrew in Monday’s varsity baseball game.

According to the match details, Carson Paulas, Quinten Lange, and Kaden Kopacz collectively contributed four of the Warriors’ eight hits, scoring two runs and driving in two. Paulas and Lange each recorded two hits, while Anthony Vita also added a pair of base knocks.

Conor Essenburg provided a strong performance on the mound, striking out 12 batters over 5 2/3 innings. The left-hander allowed no hits and one unearned run while issuing three walks. Tyler Bartley pitched in relief and secured the save.

The Warriors took an early lead in the second inning when Lange doubled in a run. They extended their advantage with three more runs in the third inning, thanks to hits from Ian Hazelip, Paulas, and a sacrifice fly by Michael Pettit.

Andrew’s pitcher Moss was charged with the loss after conceding four runs—three earned—on six hits over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out two batters and walked five. Cusack drove in Andrew’s only run, while Burns led his team at the plate with a 1-for-3 performance.
