Lincoln-Way West’s girls varsity swim team faced a tough test Tuesday night, falling 130-52 to Lincoln-Way Central in a SouthWest Suburban Conference matchup.

Despite the score line, the Warriors showed determination throughout the meet, competing against one of the area’s deeper and more experienced rosters. West swimmers turned in several strong individual efforts, highlighting their progress early in the season.

The Warriors’ relays kept the energy high, with swimmers maintaining competitive splits to set the tone in both sprint and middle-distance events. Several athletes recorded season-best times, a promising sign as the team builds toward the conference stretch.

Coaches praised the team’s effort, noting that many swimmers are continuing to cut time and show improvement meet to meet. With a young lineup still gaining experience, the meet served as an opportunity for the Warriors to test themselves against a strong rival.

Lincoln-Way West now looks ahead to upcoming duals and invitationals that will give swimmers more chances to sharpen their times and prepare for the back half of the season.

The Warriors return to action later this month, aiming to carry momentum from their hard-fought performance into the next slate of competition.
