Lincoln-Way West alum Evan Wydajewski completed 20 of 28 passes for 257 yards and four touchdowns as Benedictine won their season opener over Buena Vista University, 35-7.
Wydajewski, a 6’2, 180-pound senior from New Lenox, also ran three times for 13 yards.
He completed his first eight passes and threw to eight different receivers on the day.
Wydajewski played in eight games last season and threw for 971 yards. The Eagles went 5-4 in 2023.
He graduated from Lincoln-Way West in 2021, where he was academic all-state and was the SWSC Red Conference Player of the Year.
Benedictine (1-0) plays at American Rivers Conference rival Loras College in Dubuque, IA on Sat. Sept. 14 at 6:00 p.m.
