The LWW girls swim and dive season has come to a close, and for Coach Eric Pavlacka, this season was one to remember.
“This was one of the most enjoyable seasons for me from a coaching perspective," Pavlacka said. "Our varsity swimmers were all hard-working girls that pushed and encouraged each other throughout the season, and their hard work paid off with excellent swims at Conference and Sectionals this year.”
According to Pavlacka, two individuals this year really stood out with their performances and leadership skills.
“Dana Dykshorn and Ally Donovan were both great leaders for us this season," he said. "They held everyone accountable at practices and led by example in terms of cheering on teammates at meets throughout the season.”
When asked about how the season went from a coach's point of view, and what to expect from the team next year, Pavlacka was impressed in his response and very straightforward.
“The season went above and beyond my expectations," he said. "The girls showed constant improvement throughout the entire season. We also attended a few new relay meets this fall that allowed the girls to compete together and build a positive team atmosphere. As for our goals for next year, they will be for everyone to keep dropping time individually, and for our team as a whole to improve on our Conference and Sectional places.”
