The Lincoln-Way West boys bowling team finished 5th out of 21 teams in their latest competition at the Plainfield South Invite, marking another solid result for a young squad.
With just three returning varsity members—one senior, one junior, and a sophomore—the team has grown significantly with the addition of two freshmen.
West has shown steady improvement, finishing 2nd at one invite, 9th out of 44 at another, and now 5th out of 21.
Senior Jayden Kristie led the team, finishing 21st, followed closely by junior Matthew Staniszewski in 22nd and freshman Ryan Richter in 30th.
The varsity squad also included Logan Nicholls, Patrick Berlin, and Matthew McLean, who round out the top six averages for the season.
Warriors finish second at Minooka Invite
The Warriors finished in second place at the Minooka Invitational, losing out by just 16 pins.
This was a challenge tournament, which means the lane play was a bit tougher than normal, but this did not affect how well the boys did.
West was led by Freshman Ryan Richter who won the individual title and had a high game of 264.
After the first round, the teams battled in a Bakers tournament, and the team made it all the way to the championship match, just falling short to Lane Tech again.
