Lincoln-Way West High School's boys varsity water polo team concluded its regular season with a decisive 28-7 victory over Mt. Carmel on Wednesday evening.
According to the report, the Warriors hosted the match at their home pool, establishing an early lead and maintaining it throughout. With strong offensive plays and tight defense, Lincoln-Way West dominated the Caravan, achieving one of their highest-scoring performances of the season.
The victory improves the Warriors' final regular-season record to 20-7, providing momentum as they enter postseason play. Coaches commended the team's energy, execution, and teamwork during the match.
"It was a great way to finish the season," Coach Nick Schaub said. "The players have worked hard all year, and tonight’s performance showed how far they’ve come." Schaub noted that the 28 goals highlighted the team's offensive depth, with multiple players contributing to the scoreboard. Meanwhile, their defense restricted Mt. Carmel's scoring opportunities, allowing just seven goals in four quarters.
With the regular season now complete, Lincoln-Way West will focus on the playoffs, aiming to maintain their intensity and discipline in upcoming competitions. Postseason matchups and schedules are expected to be announced later this week.
