Varsity Boys Golf Team played incredibly strong and finished in third place at the IHSA Regional on Oct. 2.
The event took place at The Creek Course at Morris Country Club.
The third place finish advanced the team to the IHSA Sectional. This marked the first time the team has reached Sectionals in six years.
After being tied for third with Lockport, E.J. Dwyer stuffed a 73 yard wedge on his last hole to set up a birdie that ultimately broke the tie and sent Lockport down to fourth place. Dwyer finished his last six holes at 3-under par, and that was good enough for a 3-over par 74, which led the team in scoring.
Colin Ladd played outstanding as well, carding a 79 with three birdies on his first nine holes.
Other notable performances included Logan Knedlik, who played steady golf all day shooting an 80. Charlie Stream played well down the stretch, shooting an 80 with a clutch birdie on his 16th hole.
The Warriors third place finish resulted in 313 total points in the match on the day.
