Lincoln-Way West High School has named Ryne Foster as its new head girls golf coach, effective at the end of the current school year. He replaces longtime coach Tim Daly, who is retiring after leading the program since its inception.

“I’m honored and excited to lead the girls golf team,” Foster said. “Golf has been a major part of my life for over 20 years. I look forward to building on the strong foundation Coach Daly established.”

Foster began golfing at age 10 and competed in Illinois Junior Golf Association events. A four-year player at Lincoln-Way East High School, he continued his career at MacMurray College, competing in tournaments across the Midwest and South Carolina.

He brings eight years of coaching experience, having served in boys and girls soccer roles at Lincoln-Way Central and West. He also coached one season of boys golf at Central.

“Ryne’s passion for golf and experience in the district make him a great fit,” Athletic Director Mike Villa said. “We’re excited for the future of the program.”

Foster will begin working with the team this spring.
