Lincoln-Way's boys varsity lacrosse team concluded their spring break with a decisive 9-4 victory over Minooka Community on Saturday, April 5.
The team was led by senior Chris Biel, who scored four goals to ignite the offense. According to the team's performance, Biel’s consistent pressure helped Lincoln-Way establish an early lead and maintain control throughout the game. His standout performance was supported by solid team play and an aggressive defensive effort.
Minooka faced challenges in gaining momentum against the Warriors’ defense, which effectively limited scoring opportunities. Junior goalie Logan Lahey made eight crucial saves, shutting down Minooka’s attack and keeping Lincoln-Way comfortably ahead on the scoreboard.
"We played with a lot of energy today and executed on both sides of the field," head coach Tyler Jackson said. "Chris stepped up big for us, and Logan made some huge stops in goal."
With this win, the team has bolstered their confidence as they approach the remainder of the season. The team is set to return to action on Monday, April 7, when they face Oak Forest. Lincoln-Way aims to continue building momentum as conference play intensifies and postseason aspirations begin to take shape in the weeks ahead.
