Lincoln-Way West's varsity softball team secured a decisive victory over Marian Catholic with a 13-3 win on Monday, advancing their season record to 10-4.
The Warriors' offensive strength was evident, driven by notable performances from key players. Senior Reese Cusack achieved a flawless 3-for-3 at the plate, hitting two home runs, driving in two runs, and scoring four times. She also reached base after being hit by a pitch.
According to the team's performance report, Kaylea Armstrong mirrored Cusack’s achievement by also going 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Hannah Borchert contributed significantly as well, going 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored.
Reese Forsythe continued the team's strong showing with a 2-for-2 performance that included an RBI and two runs. Abby Brueggmann added to the tally with a double and two RBIs on a 1-for-2 day, while Addison Adrieansen brought in two more RBIs with a single hit.
Jess Noga successfully reached base three times, going 2-for-2 with a walk. Paige Seivert added to the scoreline with a hit and one run scored.
The Warriors are set to play again on Tuesday at home against Bradley-Bourbonnais. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., as Lincoln-Way West aims to continue their winning streak.
