Lincoln-Way West's freshman/sophomore girls softball team demonstrated resilience and determination on Saturday, rallying in the final inning to secure an 11-10 victory over Oswego in a dramatic walk-off win.
According to reports, the Warriors were down by one run in the bottom of the seventh inning when Camryn Niemeyer delivered a crucial single, driving in both the tying and winning runs to complete a remarkable comeback.
Lincoln-Way West's offense was described as "electric" throughout the game. Madi Smith led with three hits, while Niemeyer, Arielle McIntosh, Riley Dove, and Addison Thayer each contributed two RBIs. The team amassed 13 hits, consistently challenging Oswego's defense.
On the pitching front, Maci Richard completed the game, allowing just one earned run over seven innings. Her performance kept Lincoln-Way West within reach until their offense could capitalize.
The game was part of a doubleheader where each team claimed one victory. However, it was Lincoln-Way West’s walk-off moment that captured attention. The Warriors aim to maintain their momentum into Tuesday’s away game against Bradley-Bourbonnais following Saturday’s notable performance.
