Some golfers wait their entire careers to join the hole-in-one club, but Sophia Arizzi accomplished the feat in her junior year for the JV girl's golf team on Aug. 21 at Coyote Run Golf Course.
Arizzi made the ace on the Par 3 eighth hole, hitting 7-iron from 110 yards.
"The green was kind of titled, so it just rolled right in," said Arizzi, who shot 39 for the 9-hole round. "I was in disbelief."
According to Arizzi, it took a moment to realize what had just happened.
"I was so excited, it was just so surreal in the moment" said Arizzi, who helped the JV team earn a sweep over Homewood-Flossmoor, along with a win for the varsity team. "It rolled in and I was just like 'oh my gosh, that really just rolled right in.'"
